Fresh leaves
The essential oil of lemon eucalyptus is highly accessible. It is not expensive and has no notable contraindications. The only ‘disadvantage’ is that its fragrance strongly resembles that of citronella, a mosquito repellent. However, lemon eucalyptus is superior to citronella in both fragrance and effect. Multiple studies have shown that the insect-repellent properties of lemon eucalyptus are better than those of citronella. Lemon eucalyptus combines well with wintergreen, German chamomile, rosemary and basil. The insect-repellent effect can be enhanced in a synergy with true lavender and geranium.
